Writer expands globally to meet demand for agentic AI solutions

Today, we are excited to announce a significant milestone in our journey: Writer is expanding globally to better serve our growing customer base. This expansion includes the launch of new hubs in Singapore and Dublin, as well as the opening of new offices in Chicago and Austin, and the expansion of our existing offices in San Francisco, New York, and London.

Strategic leadership and global expansion

Our global expansion is a strategic move to bring our enterprise-grade AI solutions closer to our customers, both current and new. As businesses look to adopt AI at scale, they need solutions that are secure, reliable, and built for the realities of enterprise use. That’s what Writer delivers. Our new hubs and offices will ensure that our customers have the right tools and expert support to drive real impact. To support this expansion, we’ve appointed new leadership in key regions.

Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region

Doug Kang joins us as VP, head of APJ, bringing critical experience to the region. Doug has an impressive background in sales and business development within the B2B SaaS sector, specializing in revenue growth, new market expansion, and forging strategic partnerships across the Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region.

Our Singapore hub will serve as a strategic base for Writer in the APJ region, enabling us to better support our growing customer base in this dynamic market. The APJ region is a key focus for Writer, and our presence in Singapore will help us deepen our vertical expertise in healthcare and financial services, ensuring our solutions meet the stringent requirements of these highly-regulated industries.

Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region

We’ve also added to our team in EMEA, with Darragh Fitzpatrick serving as EMEA vice president of sales, and Stephen Ryan as head of EMEA partnerships.

Darragh brings over 14 years of experience in scaling high-growth teams and driving revenue across SaaS. His expertise in building dynamic, empowered teams and optimizing go-to-market strategies across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise segments will be essential for accelerating Writer’s growth in EMEA. Stephen brings more than 15 years of experience building direct and indirect sales models in hyper-growth technology markets across Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and North America. These appointments bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our team, ensuring that we can deliver the highest level of service and support to our customers.

Our new hub in Dublin will be a critical center for our operations in EMEA. It will help us attract top talent and provide expert support to our customers in the region. Additionally, we’ve opened a new office in London, an existing key market, to better serve enterprises as they scale AI across industries.

Brian O’Reilly, head of international, emphasized the importance of these strategic moves: “The pace of AI adoption in APJ and EMEA is undeniable. Enterprises here are moving fast on AI, building dedicated teams and actively looking for solutions that deliver immediate ROI across their organizations. The overwhelming response to our AI Leadership Forum in London this week reinforces this demand – not just for great AI, but for a strategic partner that can actually make it work at scale. With offices now in London, Singapore, and Dublin, we’re strengthening our international presence and giving enterprises a partner on the ground as they look to become AI-first.”

New EMEA advisory board

Additionally, we have established an EMEA advisory board, chaired by Gavin Patterson, former president and chief revenue officer at Salesforce: “I met Writer CEO May Habib some months ago, and I was immediately intrigued by her vision and traction to date with customers like Vanguard, Mars, Salesforce, Accenture, and L’Oreal to name a few. It is clear that generative AI and agentic AI will transform how we work over the coming decade — I’m thrilled to be involved with a company who is shaping this future.”

Other prominent members of the board include Nikita Popov from Novartis, Sarah Swaney from Kenvue, Lindsay Barrett from Mars, Andy Gamble from Currys, Aman Thind from State Street, and Paul Martin from Willis Towers Watson. This board will play a crucial role in guiding our expansion and ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our customers in the region.

Deepening our U.S. presence

Writer has also expanded its U.S. operations with new hubs in Austin and Chicago, as the company looks to expand our teams in these regions. These locations will serve as strategic hubs for attracting top talent and deepening the company’s presence in the South and Midwest. The company has additionally expanded its operations in its core San Francisco and New York markets, moving into larger office spaces to accommodate the company’s internal growth.

Alongside its geographic expansion, Writer has continued its laser focus on bringing to market next-generation, industry-leading AI solutions. Recently, Writer was named as an Emerging Leader in the 2024 Gartner Innovation Guide for Generative AI Technologies, the only enterprise AI platform to place in the top right quadrant in all three of categories: Generative AI Model Providers, Generative AI Engineering, and AI Knowledge Management Apps / General Productivity.
