Five ways AI vendors should support the adoption process

Vendors are key players in helping companies set the vision for AI and bring that vision to life. But, our 2025 enterprise AI adoption report shows nearly all executives (94%) surveyed say they’re not entirely satisfied with the AI companies they use, noting a variety of ways in which vendors could improve their offerings and support.
Not all platforms, tools, and providers are equal, which is why organizations must select the right vendor to partner with on their AI journey. Writer is the end-to-end platform for scaling agentic AI in the enterprise. Discover the top five must-haves in an AI vendor and how Writer delivers on each one.
- Over half of C-suite executives are dissatisfied with AI vendors, primarily due to a lack of customization to business needs and insufficient preparation for implementation.
- Writer collaborates closely with business leaders to prioritize use cases and integrate security and compliance features, as well as practical workshops to prepare organizations for AI adoption.
- A pilot phase is crucial for cultural acceptance, with Writer facilitating quick wins and iterative feedback to ensure a smooth transition and broader organizational buy-in.
- Writer measures and communicates the impact of AI through predefined KPIs, helping justify investment and encouraging expansion to additional functions.
- To support scaling, Writer trains internal AI leaders and provides a comprehensive suite of development tools, ensuring long-term ROI and strategic integration of AI across the enterprise.
1. Customize AI tools to unique customer needs
Over half (53%) of the C-suite say vendors are letting them down when prioritizing use cases for their business needs. They expect vendors to work closely with them to identify high-value applications for their tools and determine potential proof-of-concept opportunities.
Writer AI program management starts by collaborating with business leaders to identify and prioritize use cases, and map the existing workflow. Then, the Writer team either identifies out-of-the-box agents or provides the tools and guidance to build custom agents to meet those use cases. For custom builds, there’s an iterative testing and feedback loop with the customer.
When Medisolv, a healthcare quality reporting software company, was evaluating AI vendors, transparency was the top priority. They wanted to choose an AI partner that would be very clear about how it would use their data. SVP of Regulatory Affairs and Advisory Services, Erin Heilman, explains how Medisolv worked with Writer to create a custom AI agent to draft highly technical blog articles.
“Writer AI agents took away the upfront burden of trying to understand deeply technical specifications and gave us a 70% completed article,” says Heilman. “It made the whole process exponentially faster.”
To ensure a smooth transition and successful adoption of generative AI, Heilman relied on the support provided by the Writer team.
“I met with the team each week since generative AI was new to me, and I wanted to make sure adoption was done right,” Heilman says. “The Writer customer support team enabled me to share with my executives why generative AI was the right decision for us, as well as helping me understand what the day-to-day users would need.”
2. Help customers prepare their business
According to 52% of respondents, vendors should do more to help their company define roles and responsibilities, address security considerations, and gather necessary data. The same percentage (52%) say they’d also like vendors to offer user training or certification programs.
Writer provides security and compliance features that minimize risk and maximize control. Writer Knowledge Graph, our graph-based RAG capabilities, help enterprises gather and organize necessary data, making it accessible and usable for generating accurate and contextually relevant content. And Writer will never use customer data to create, modify, or train models.
New American Funding, one of the nation’s largest independent mortgage banks, selected a vendor that would support them from the time the contract was signed through the first months of usage. Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Strickman says the legal team was very pleased with Writer.
“They felt comfortable with the rigor that was in place and the way that the AI platform considered what could and couldn’t be said, including how we could enforce language in Writer,” Strickman says. “The legal team has been very pleased, so much so that they’re wondering how they might use Writer to support their efforts.”
But, preparation extends beyond transparent data handling and security reassurances. Writer hosts on-site workshops and hackathons to give teams practical and hands-on resources as well as identify and empower AI champions. Writer’s unique delivery approach includes a blueprint for AI workflow delivery that unites business and IT, along with foundational programs to enable end-users and prepare your organization for change. You can’t just tack AI onto existing workflows — which is why Writer helps enterprises reimagine work to be AI-first.

Continuous learning can be done with Writer AI Academy, the go-to hub for becoming an AI expert. Users can earn a Power User Certification, watch quick tip videos, or access on-demand courses. It equips teams with everything they need to improve their skills and start building AI agents.
3. Offer a pilot phase
50% of executives want vendors to provide more support for the cultural acceptance of AI at their organization. Experienced vendors know that offering a pilot phase allows employees to experiment with new tools and test their functionality, ensuring a smooth transition.
Writer helps teams achieve quick wins with early use cases and then identify more ways AI agents can reinvent work processes. Writer then helps facilitate roll-out to more users across various functions. At the heart of the process is a people-first mentality to dispel any fear about integrating this new technology into everyday work.
Qualcomm, a leader in enabling intelligent processing, was looking for an end-to-end AI platform led by experienced founders. They were pleased to find that Writer checked all their boxes.
“We needed a full-stack AI platform with LLMs that the vendor would stand behind, a RAG solution for our corporate data, and ability to support the surfaces where we work,” says Senior Manager of Marketing Brent Summers. “We found all of that with Writer.”
During the initial pilot with Writer, 100% of users expressed a desire to adopt the platform full-time, giving Summers the confidence to scale the solution. The Writer success team efficiently onboarded new users through cohort-based training, office hours, and use case development workshops. Within months, the platform boasted over 100 active users, and its success quickly caught the attention of other departments.
“Writer helped us be wildly successful,” Summers says. “So much so that other teams had fear of missing out and asked to get access as well.” Writer usage at Qualcomm now spans across teams in legal, product, analytics, sales, L&D, HR, and internal communications.
4. Guide customers through assessing the impact
48% of leaders wish vendors would help them measure and communicate the impact of AI tools within the organization. Best-in-class vendors will gather quantitative and qualitative data to showcase their platform’s value and level of adoption.
To continue justifying investment in AI, Writer measures the value of predefined KPIs. This ensures executives are aligned on business outcomes and can assess whether early use cases validate business impacts.
For BambooHR, an all-in-one HR software platform, the initial goal was to measure adoption and usage rates. This would inform their future investments and improvements.
”One of the things we’re tracking are how many suggestions are made and how many people are accepting them,” says Executive Creative Director John Meese. “I love seeing the specific language and terms that we contributed to the system are being accepted. If we look back at all the users that we have registered, 96% of those view suggestions from Writer and are engaging with them.”
This high level of adoption and usage has encouraged BambooHR to expand Writer to additional functions like HR, content experience, and product. The team is enthusiastic about new features and how they can continue scaling.
5. Enable customers to scale up their business
Scaling and operationalizing the use of generative AI tools across the enterprise is the final (and most exciting) phase of the adoption process. Yet 45% of the C-suite say their vendors could be doing more to support this key step for their organization.
Writer’s ultimate vision is to enable customers to be self-driven in their AI programs. Writer helps teams assemble the scaffolding so they can move into the driver’s seat. This includes training the trainer and onboarding internal AI leaders — ensuring AI isn’t just a hype project, but continues to deliver ROI.
The worry about hype was one of the biggest challenges Kaufman Rossin, a financial services firm, faced. Finding the right AI partner was critical to overcoming this obstacle. They needed to make sure AI delivered measurable value in the form of higher productivity and better experiences.
“From the start, we wanted to be strategic in integrating and scaling generative AI, beginning with engagement and education,” says Chief Innovation Officer Albert Primo. “Employees can’t use generative AI effectively if they don’t understand it. We held webinars on generative AI and explained potential real-world use cases, then organized an AI use case contest, which spurred engagement and identified over 50 potential use cases.”
With a comprehensive suite of development tools, the Writer API, and a stellar customer success team, Writer is built for scale and helps businesses work towards becoming AI-powered enterprises.
“The Writer customer success team has been essential in driving adoption,” Primo says. “They’re so engaged that it feels like they’re a key part of our team and a strategic partner.”
